Exploring school transfers in Indiana

Transfers in and out of Indiana’s primary and secondary schools are the focus of my recent data project. It explores how they work, how they’re counted, and how they’ve grown through the recent dips and swings of school enrollment. An interactive maps allow users to explore the hundreds of transfer relationships between different schools and corporations, visualize how both sides perform across standardized tests, and see where transfers into and out of their own school or corporation are going.

The project is built upon enrollment, transfer and test data published by the Indiana Department of Education. The data were cleaned, wrangled and visualized in R. The scripts, raw and clean data, and final webpage can be found on github.
